Telehealth
Online Counseling
Telehealth counseling (also known as online therapy, virtual counseling, or teletherapy) provides counseling and mental health services remotely via video conferencing (Zoom). It allows you to receive therapy from the comfort of your home or any location with internet access. This eliminates the need for travel time and provides greater flexibility in scheduling appointments, making it convenient for individuals with busy lifestyles or limited mobility.
It’s important to note that our counselors are only permitted to see clients who are located in the state in which they are licensed, which in most cases is West Virginia. If you reside outside of West Virginia, contact us to check out-of-state eligibility. We are also happy to provide any known referrals to licensed therapists in your area.
Online counseling has been around for a few years, but it has become much more important since the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020. Now that there are major concerns about the safety of going to public spaces, online counseling has become a necessary resource for many people.
At Apex Counseling, all of our counselors offer therapy online.
In fact, many of our clients have told us that they prefer this method, as it allows them to get a similar level of service from the comfort and safety of their own home.
Almost any type of therapy can be accomplished in the online format. Our counselors have found solutions for utilizing art therapy, play therapy, trauma therapy, and couple’s counseling, so there are very few limitations to doing counseling online.
Currently, many insurances pay for online counseling, so there is usually no extra cost involved for our clients. The only things necessary are a device with a camera, and a good internet connection.
